Behind the scenes at GPP Singapore. (Craig Ferguson)

Gulf Photo Plus is perhaps the leading series of photography workshops in the world. Held every March in Dubai it attracts some of the best photographers and photography teachers for a week long series of events. For those who cannot make it to Dubai, they’ve taken the show on the road, firstly to London, and this past weekend to Singapore. As a member of the Phottix Pro Team, I was asked if I wanted to go along as an assistant to one of the photographers presenting at the event. Chances like that don’t come along every day and I jumped at it, electing to assist Joe McNally during his Saturday afternoon demonstration, and shooting behind the scenes photographs the rest of the time. Zack Arias kicked things off on Saturday morning, and Sunday saw Louis Pang in the morning and Gregory Heisler in the afternoon. To say it was a very inspiring and educational weekend would be an understatement. The whole weekend was smoothly run by Mohammed, Hala and the rest of the GPP team, and gave 200 of Singapore and the regions photographers a chance to learn from the very best. If you get the chance to go to Dubai next year, or if one of the pop up events is coming through your part of the world I highly recommend you make the time to participate. Here are a few select behind the scenes images followed by a slideshow featuring more.
