Much has been written about the subway system in Tokyo. Seemingly countless lines to travel on, jam-packed rush hour commuting, the world’s busiest station at Shinjuku and so on. Serving a city of 13.5 million people is not an easy thing. Despite the crowds and multiple destinations it’s a remarkably easy system to travel around on, and with a bit of planning you can’t really get lost. While in Tokyo to photograph a traditional festival earlier this month I spent a bit of time traveling around by train and subway, and snapped a few images from the trains and platforms as I moved around town. I was mostly using my Fuji mirrorless camera although there’s one or two that were shot with a DSLR.

I’ll have a post in the near future with images from the festival I was there to photograph.
